A Surprised, Humbled Erin Quinlan Wins $25K Milken Educator Award for RI

Rhode Island Education Commissioner Deborah Gist sets the stage at Captain Isaac Paine Elementary School in Foster, where Erin Quinlan is surprised with a prestigious Milken Educator Award for the 2014–15 school year. “If you set your sights high,” Erin tells the students in the packed gym, “something like this could happen!” Students and staff at Captain Isaac Paine have served as Erin’s “family” since her move there from Minnesota. Now Erin can add the Milken Educator Award family as another layer of support and encouragement as she continues to live her dream.
