It was a typical assembly at Thaddeus Stevens Elementary School in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, until the Milken Family Foundation turned the tables to surprise science, math and social studies teacher Michael Baum with a $25,000 Milken Educator Award. Milken Educator Awards Senior Vice President Dr. Jane Foley was joined by Pennsylvania Acting Secretary of Education Carolyn Damaresq, Ed.D., to honor Michael’s care and compassion before colleagues, students, dignitaries and the media.
