Alaska Teacher Jenna White Earns Milken Award for Service to Students

National Guard veteran and physical education teacher Jenna White of Orion Elementary School on Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson in Anchorage, Alaska, received a very special “thank you” from the Milken Family Foundation for her service to her students. Milken Educator Awards Senior Vice President Dr. Jane Foley and Alaska Education Commissioner Mike Hanley caught Jenna completely “off guard” with the presentation of the prestigious Milken Educator Award, which comes with a $25,000 cash prize that she can use however she wishes.
