Unending Praise for OR’s 2013-14 Milken Educator Teresa Chan Seidel

“She’s the reason I try so hard to get good grades,” says one of the many students at Robert Gray Middle School who insisted on taking turns to hug, congratulate and offer their thanks to math teacher Teresa Chan Seidel when Milken Family Foundation Co-Founder Mike Milken and Deputy Superintendent of Public Instruction Rob Saxton announced her as the 2013–14 winner of the Milken Educator Award for Oregon. VIPs, including Portland First Lady Nancy Hales, were also eager to share their gratitude on this career-changing day for an outstanding teacher.
