Nicole Castile Can’t Believe She Just Won a $25K Milken Educator Award!

Faculty and students at Norman Smith Elementary School in Clarksville, Tennessee, organized a spirited assembly to celebrate their accomplishments and a visit from Tennessee Education Commissioner Kevin Huffman. What they didn’t know is that they were also planning a special honor for third-grade teacher and school STEM leader Nicole Castile. About halfway into the assembly, Commissioner Huffman, with the help of National Institute for Excellence in Teaching President and Milken Educator Dr. Gary Stark, presented Nicole with a $25,000 Milken Educator Award to thunderous cheers.
