Whitney Stead may prepare her kindergartners well for their school years, but she had no way to prepare herself for the surprise Milken Educator Award—and $25,000 cash prize. Milken Educator Awards Senior Vice President Dr. Jane Foley presented Whitney with the Award at a schoolwide assembly at Village of Barboursville Elementary School in Barboursville, West Virginia. Joining Dr. Foley were State Superintendent of Schools Dr. James B. Phares and Cabell County Schools Superintendent William A. Smith. Who does Whitney say is her role model?
