Vanessa Torres Wins Milken Award in South Carolina

Special guests are visiting Nursery Road Elementary School this morning: South Carolina Superintendent of Education Molly Spearman and Dr. Stephen W. Hefner, superintendent of Lexington-Richland School District Five. But there's one more special guest at the all-school assembly—and she's brought a big surprise for one teacher at Nursery Road! Watch as Dr. Jane Foley, senior vice president of the Milken Educator Awards, surprises Spanish teacher Vanessa Torres with South Carolina's 2016-17 Milken Educator Award and a huge check for $25,000, turning an ordinary day into one Torres will remember for the rest of her life.
