Everyone is fired up for the morning assembly at Paul Cuffee Lower School: Dr. Ken Wagner, Rhode Island's commissioner of education, is visiting to commend the school on its exemplary social and emotional learning curriculum. But there's another reason for Wagner's visit, which becomes clear when Dr. Jane Foley, senior vice president of the Milken Educator Awards, surprises fourth-grade teacher Emily Caldarelli with Rhode Island's 2016-17 Milken Educator Award.
