Principal Devon Willis-Jones Wins LA Milken Educator Award

Jeanerette Elementary School in Iberia Parish is celebrating its stellar gains in student achievement at a star-studded all-school gathering, with visiting dignitaries including Dr. Holly Boffy, vice president of the Louisiana Board of Elementary and Secondary Education, and Iberia Parish School District Superintendent Dale Henderson. But there’s another reason to celebrate, which comes to light when Lowell Milken, chairman and co-founder of the Milken Family Foundation, surprises Jeanerette Principal Devon Willis-Jones with a 2016-17 Milken Educator Award and $25,000.
