Alabama's New Milken Educator Is Amara Alexander

Michael Sentance, Alabama's superintendent of education, has stopped in at Horizon Elementary to talk to the students about their achievement at an all-school assembly. But he's got a surprise guest waiting in the wings: Dr. Jane Foley, senior vice president of the Milken Educator Awards, who presents sixth-grade science teacher Amara Alexander with Alabama's 2016-17 Milken Educator Award and a $25,000 cash prize.
