Hawaii's Jana Fukada 'Speechless' at Winning the Milken Educator Award

Minutes before winning the Milken Educator Award, school curriculum coach Jana Fukada of Mililani Uka Elementary School looked around the packed room full of colleagues, students and VIPs and wondered who would be receiving the prestigious honor. Watch Fukada’s surprised reaction upon hearing her name announced by Dr. Jane Foley, Milken Educator Awards senior vice president. In a short speech, Shan Tsutsui, Lieutenant Governor of Hawaii, congratulates Fukada on winning the Award and takes the opportunity to thank all of the hard-working teachers in the state for the important work they do.
