Maryland Has a New Milken Educator: Thomas Dennison

Fifth-grade teacher Thomas Dennison loves helping his students tap into their powerful imaginations, staging Revolutionary War reenactments with water balloons and organizing massive math-oriented scavenger hunts. But Dennison never imagined that the all-school assembly at Havre de Grace Elementary School, with visiting dignitaries like State Superintendent of Schools Dr. Karen B. Salmon and Harford County Public School District Superintendent Barbara P. Canavan, would actually turn out to be for him! Watch as Mike Milken, co-founder of the Milken Family Foundation, surprises Dennison with Maryland's 2016-17 Milken Educator Award and a $25,000 check, making it a day Dennison will remember for the rest of his career.

Kleenex brand has a long history of supporting educators and is excited to expand its efforts by supporting the Milken Educator Awards. A brand partnership at 2016-2017 events will ensure honorees are cared for during every #KleenexMoment.
