Math Teacher Angela Boxie Wins LA Milken Award

Edgar Martin Middle School is celebrating today: Students have some of the highest math scores in Louisiana's Lafayette Parish, and dignitaries from around the state are visiting for a schoolwide assembly. But there's another reason to celebrate, and it involves a huge surprise for one outstanding educator. Watch as Lowell Milken, chairman and co-founder of the Milken Family Foundation, names math teacher Angela Boxie the recipient of a 2017-18 Louisiana Milken Educator Award, changing her life forever. Boxie is the first Milken Award recipient from the district.
