VA Math Teacher Pamela Stepko Gets the Surprise of her Career

Cumberland Elementary math interventionist Pamela Stepko made history when we presented her with the first ever Virginia Milken Educator Award in Cumberland County Public Schools. First Lady Suzanne S. Youngkin and Superintendent of Public Instruction Jillian Balow joined us for Pamela's career-changing Award, which took the recipient entirely by surprise. "I've always felt that being an educator is the purpose I was given," Pamela told us after the assembly. Her number one goal: providing an environment where students "feel confident about their learning and celebrate their successes."
