Indianapolis Milken Educator Kelly Wilber Accepts “Highest Honor”

“We know you love to learn, and because of you, we love to teach,” an emotional Kelly Wilber tells the students of Southport Elementary School in Indianapolis, Indiana, after being surprised with a 2014-15 Milken Educator Award at an all-school assembly. State Superintendent of Public Instruction Glenda Ritz, together with National Institute for Excellence in Teaching CEO and Milken Educator Dr. Gary Stark, deliver the exciting news. Kelly is a fifth-grade teacher and mentor. True to form, she shares the honor with her students and colleagues.   • We are so proud to have someone like Kelly working at our school. She is a role model for all of us. She is always looking for ways to improve and is an inspiration to us all. It is a wonderful thing to see someone so deserving be recognized and rewarded for all of their effort!
