PHOENIX, AZ—It's a big day at Clarendon Elementary School: Arizona Deputy Superintendent of Public Instruction Margaret Garcia Dugan is visiting for a special all-school assembly. The reason for the assembly becomes clear when National Institute for Excellence in Teaching Chief Executive Officer Dr. Joshua Barnett, representing the Milken Family Foundation, takes the mic and surprises Principal Jeff Martin with Arizona’s sole 2024-25 Milken Educator Award and $25,000.
