"The state education departments want to be partnered with the best educators in the state," says Brian Allman (WV '19) during the panel discussion on teacher advisory councils. "If you go about establishing those relationships in the right way, they can open up the doors to partnerships across your state." Silvia Miranda (NM '18) has found tremendous value in her role as a New Mexico state ambassador: "Being part of a teacher advisory council is the best of both worlds. It helped me find ways to lead from where I'm at."
