Biographical Information

A graduate of Hutto ISD, Olivia Joseph is devoted to preparing the community’s future leaders. She cultivates a warm, supportive and academically rigorous environment for her kindergarteners at Howard Norman Elementary School. Joseph thoughtfully tailors instruction to meet individual student needs, intentionally identifying areas for growth and partnering with families to support student learning and progress. She utilizes clear standards for each activity and carefully reviews learning objectives so students understand expectations and the purpose of each lesson. Joseph’s students consistently demonstrate growth both academically and socially, setting a strong foundation for success in their educational journeys.

A constant innovator, Joseph designs lessons that are accessible and challenging for students at all learning levels, ensuring each child feels supported and motivated to excel, and administers formative assessments along the way. Students often can be found in reading rotations—rooted in the science of reading —or learning targeted skills in small groups. Her consistent classroom structure, positive reinforcement, and promotion of respect and understanding compel students to take ownership of their learning and engage with both peers and instruction.

As a member of the campus leadership team, kindergarten team lead, and math vertical team representative, Joseph is a transparent, approachable, and supportive leader and communicator. Her influence extends beyond Howard Norman to the district level, where she serves on the curriculum, assessment, and school improvement committees. Her “Gold Star Classroom” strategies are shared as models for professional development to both new and veteran educators. A beacon of positivity and professionalism, Joseph also mentors aspiring teachers from Texas State University by hosting them as interns, further reflecting her deep commitment to professional growth and the development of future educators.

Joseph earned her Bachelor of Science in interdisciplinary studies in 2017 from the University of Houston-Victoria.
