Marin County Science Teacher Nick Williams Wins $25K Milken Award

 

Veteran Milken Educators and dignitaries visit Nick Williams's ninth-grade science classroom, where students say they aspire to careers in engineering and medicine. As an AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) teacher, Williams mentors 30 students, including some who struggle due to social, emotional or extreme home situations. Last year, most of his AVID students applied and were accepted to college.
