Math teacher Rhonda Burrage wipes away tears as Dr. Jane Foley, senior vice president of the Milken Educator Awards, and U.S. Representative Gregg Harper congratulate her on winning Mississippi's 2015-16 Milken Educator Award. Burrage, who has not missed a day of teaching in seven years, serves as a mentor for first-year teachers, is on the school leadership team, and chairs the BETA club, where she coordinates community service projects. She spends her "free" time tutoring students enrolled in the city and county schools.
