Marin County Science Teacher Nick Williams Wins $25K Milken Award

 

 

California Superintendent of Public Instruction Tom Torlakson praises San Marin High School's STEM program, through which local engineers, scientists, professors and community members collaborate with students on projects like green storage spaces, model race cars, musical instruments and greenhouses. Before the assembly, Torlakson watched students extracting DNA from spinach and testing model cars. This school "is going to prepare students for a fiercely competitive global economy," he tells the assembly.
