Suzanne Culbreth (AL ’99) Receives Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching

President Obama named Milken Educators Suzanne Culbreth (AL ’99) and Sarah Bax (DC ’05) recipients of the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching. The award is handed out annually to outstanding K-12 science and mathematics teachers from across the country. The winners are selected by a panel of distinguished scientists, mathematicians and educators following an initial selection process done at the state level. In addition to being invited to Washington, DC for an awards ceremony and several days of educational and celebratory events, the winners also receive $10,000 from the National Science Foundation to be used at their discretion.
