The Mt. Juliet Middle School community is having an assembly today, with Tennessee Governor Bill Lee and Commissioner of Education Dr. Penny Schwinn here to talk about the state's "Riley the Reading Raccoon" literacy program. But that's not all! Watch as Governor Lee and Dr. Jane Foley, senior vice president of the Milken Educator Awards surprise eighth grade social studies teacher Tyler Hallstedt with a Tennessee Milken Award and $25,000, making him the first Award recipient in Wilson County Schools. It's an unforgettable day for the whole school!
