Lowell Milken, founder of the Milken Educator Awards, traveled to the Pelican State to surprise three outstanding teachers with life-changing recognition and $25,000 checks in front of their students and colleagues, visiting dignitaries, and local media. Things will never be the same for first grade teacher Elise Frederic at Lakeside Primary in Prairieville, fifth grade science teacher Dereka Duncan at Cohn Elementary in Port Allen, and third grade teacher Corrie Campbell at Green T.
