NITRO, WEST VIRGINIA—Watch as an ordinary assembly turns into an extraordinary surprise for one outstanding educator at Rock Branch Elementary School. With West Virginia Governor Jim Justice and State Superintendent Michele L. Blatt on hand, Stephanie Bishop, vice president of the Milken Educator Awards, presents Janna Hamrick with West Virginia's second 2023 Milken Award and $25,000. The fifth grade teacher is in complete shock to learn that the real reason for today's school assembly was to celebrate her.
