Elevating a Profession

40 Years of Elevating a Profession: The Milken Educator Awards

For 40 years, the Milken Educator Awards have celebrated exceptional educators who are elevating the profession and making a lasting impact on students, schools, and communities. The 2026–27 Milken Educator Award season marks this milestone anniversary, honoring excellence in education across America and the educators who inspire its future! Since 1987, the Milken Educator Awards have rewarded and inspired excellence in the world of education by honoring top educators around the country with $25,000 unrestricted awards. Not an accolade for “lifetime achievement” or the proverbial gold watch at the exit door, the Milken Educator Awards target early- to mid-career education professionals for their already impressive achievements and, more significantly, for the promise of what they will accomplish in the future.
