The reason for the assembly becomes clear when National Institute for Excellence in Teaching Chief Executive Officer Dr. Joshua Barnett, representing the Milken Family Foundation, takes the mic and honors kindergarten through fourth grade academic coach Angelica Garcia with a 2025-26 Milken Educator Award and $25,000.
