Special guests are visiting Longfellow Elementary School this morning: South Dakota Governor Dennis Daugaard and Dr. Melody Schopp, secretary of education. But there's one more special guest at the all-school assembly—and he's brought a big surprise for one teacher at Longfellow Elementary! Watch as Greg Gallagher, Milken Educator Awards senior program administrator, and Governor Daugaard surprise fourth-grade teacher Amanda Christensen with South Dakota's 2016-17 Milken Educator Award and a huge check for $25,000, turning an ordinary day into one Christensen will remember for the rest of her life.
