Mark Julien "Humbled" by Winning $25,000 Milken Educator Award for Michigan

"I feel overwhelmingly humbled. Something like this, I'll probably spend the rest of my career trying to live up to." Meet English and Language Arts teacher Mark Julien, winner of the 2013-14 Milken Educator Award for Michigan. An unsuspecting Mark heard his name called for the $25,000 Milken Family Foundation honor in front of an excited schoolwide assembly at Henry Ford II High School in Sterling Heights, MI.

Introduced by State Board of Education Member Dr. Richard Zeile and surprised by Dr. Jane Foley, Mark shares what keeps him invigorated every day. Utica Community Schools Superintendent Dr. Christine M. Johns and Mark's students have a few things to say about him, as well.
