The MD Milken Award Goes to ... Thomas Dennison!

Thomas Dennison (MD '16)   |   Havre de Grace Elementary School  |  Havre de Grace, MD  |  Dec 01, 2016

Fifth-grade teacher Thomas Dennison helps his students tap into their most powerful resource: their imaginations. But Dennison never imagined that the all-school assembly at Havre de Grace Elementary School, with Maryland State Superintendent of Schools Dr. Karen B. Salmon and Harford County Public School District Superintendent Barbara P. Canavan visiting to commend the school for its Character Education Program, was actually organized to honor him! When Mike Milken, co-founder of the Milken Family Foundation, surprises Dennison with Maryland's 2016-17 Milken Educator Award and a $25,000 check, the day becomes one Dennison will remember for the rest of his career. Share Dennison's career-altering morning in our photo gallery.
