Master Teacher Theresa Cross Wins LA Milken Award

 

 

Louisiana Superintendent of Education John White congratulates Alice M. Harte on four straight years of "A" ratings, calling it "one of the best schools in the state of Louisiana." On last year's assessments, the school's fourth-graders showed the highest growth in reading and second-highest growth in math in the nation. Then White takes the assembly in an unexpected direction, introducing a special guest from California. This person is "one of the most successful businessmen in the world," he says, "but he has chosen to spend his time traveling to schools all over the nation."
