Tami Lunsford Is Delaware's First Milken Educator
Tami Lunsford (DE '17) | Newark Charter High School | Newark, DE | Oct 25, 2017Good morning, Delaware! Dignitaries are packed into the gym at Newark Charter High School for a festive assembly celebrating the school's two-time Blue Ribbon status. But is that the only reason for the event? When special guest Mike Milken, president and co-founder of the Milken Family Foundation, starts talking about the importance of recognizing outstanding educators, the crowd quickly realizes there's a surprise ahead. Milken names Tami Lunsford the recipient of Delaware's 2017-18 Milken Educator Award and $25,000, making the day one the science teacher will remember forever. Follow along in the photos below.
