Biology teacher Julius Turnipseed helps teary English teacher Misty Ayres-Miranda make her way down the bleacher steps to accept her surprise Milken Educator Award. In addition to teaching regular, honors and AP classes to NSA students in grades 9-12 and chairing the English department, Ayres-Miranda created and directs the school's Literary Arts Conservatory, which gives students opportunities to perform, write and produce plays and films.
