Michelle Johnson Joins RI Milken Educators

 

 

HOORAY FOR MS. JOHNSON!  Fogarty students cheer wildly for third-grade teacher Michelle Johnson as she makes her way to the front of the room to accept her Milken Educator Award. 

At the end of every school year, Ms. Johnson throws a party for students and families in her classroom. Over pizza and juice, pupils and their parents watch a celebratory slideshow and pore over folders of drawings, papers and projects. Ms. Johnson teaches a sheltered-instruction class of English language learners, so the room buzzes with conversation in at least eight different languages.
