  • I'd also would like to thank The Milken Family Foundation and especially Mr Lowell Milken for the distinct honor he's given my daughter-in-law Jennie. Dedicated teachers work so hard and often that goes unnoticed. Our family is very grateful you have chosen her as one of your recipients this year. I've seen her in action in the classroom and my late husband who himself was a retired teacher and I could not have been more proud. By the way her students responded they obviously love her and she them. Her respect for her fellow teachers and administration is a credit to her as well. I know many of her previous teachers whom she said impacted her a great deal from Smoky Hill High School. Mike Meagher, Skip Jensen, Mark Johnson, Barbara Bess and Ms. Gillespie. I'm sure there are many others she's mentioned as well including her mother Jeannie Todd. Thank you, thank you and congratulations my sweet Jennie! We are so proud of you!!

  • I couldn't be prouder of my niece. She is a wonderful person inside and out. Her family, friends, students, and colleagues are blessed to have her in our lives. I wish we could have been there to share in this most wonderful moment -- Congratulations Jennie!

  • I personally want to thank Mr. Lowell Milken and the Milken Family Foundation for honoring my daughter with the Colorado Milken award, and by doing so, honoring the incredible dedication, talent, and work of educators. Speaking as a retired teacher, I know the enormous responsibility and daily challenges teachers face in fostering a love of learning in each child, while inspiring them to be productive and responsible global citizens. I am so very proud of Jennie and the amazing staff and administration at Elkhart who dedicate themselves to enriching the lives of each student and guiding them to be confident and successful in their present and future lives.
It is truly heartwarming that your foundation rewards the patient devotion of those who have chosen to be teachers and are responsible for shaping the future.
