With Milken Educator Awards Founder Lowell Milken joining in and video cameras capturing every word, Dereka Duncan calls her father to share the news about her $25,000 Milken Award. "This means people think I'm a great teacher," she tells her dad. "Well, you are a great teacher, and I'm so proud of you!" he replies. She calls her mother next and gets a similar response: "That's so good! I'm so proud of you — but you already know that!"
