Katie Negen Wins TX Milken Award in Slaton

 

 

Slaton Independent School District Superintendent Julee Becker introduces a slew of high-profile guests to the assembly, including retired teachers and Texas Tech University faculty members. "They're mostly important because they have the ability to help all of you," Becker tells the students. She also thanks the National Institute for Excellence in Teaching (NIET), which has helped Slaton ISD's teachers "be as well-equipped as any school in the nation....The most important thing our state does is public education."
