Vice President of the Milken Educator Awards Dr. Jane Foley (IN ‘94) welcomes everyone, then highlights key common characteristics of Milken Educators: Excellence, Drive, Humility, and Students at the Center. She then explains the power of the Milken Educator Award pin and obelisk. The pin represents the excellence of the Milken Educator Network and its legacy of strengthening the K-12 profession for decades to come — known within the Network as POP, or the Power of the Pin. Dr. Foley encourages Milken Educators to place their obelisk where it can be seen, to celebrate both the recognition of the Award and its representation for what they can accomplish.
