Patty McGee is Lead Literacy Consultant with Gravity Goldberg, LLC. She is the author of Feedback that Moves Writers Forward, which will be published by Corwin Literacy in 2017.
Previously, Patty was a Staff Developer for the Northern Valley School Consortium working with teachers across nine schools providing professional development opportunities. She also served as a library media specialist and former fourth- grade teacher. Aiming to instill in her students habits of lifelong reading, she founded the "10,000 Book Challenge," in which students from kindergarten through eighth grade were challenged to read 10,000 books in one school year. Her students gained worldwide attention when they reached this goal in only three months. McGee has acquired various mini- grants for integrating the arts with daily learning, and has facilitated a number of districtwide reading, writing, and technology workshops. She has also acted as a national media spokesperson for Workman Publishing in New York and a consultant for the publishing company, Scholastic, Inc. She has served on the New Jersey Task Force for Teacher Quality.
