Biographical Information

Effective leaders bring out the best in those they guide – which is how Dr. Jaclyn Lennox operates as assistant principal of curriculum and instruction at Bolingbrook High School (BHS). Her experience as a former math teacher informs her innovative, data-driven decision making, contributing to student learning and the development of high-caliber educators throughout BHS and the district. Dr. Lennox established the school’s Academic Recovery Center, supports work-based learning opportunities and career readiness initiatives, and boosted AP class participation and visibility as the AP coordinator. Dr. Lennox’s work alongside BHS’ administrative team has helped lead to schoolwide improvements: a 4% student absenteeism decrease from 2023-2025; a 10% increase in cohort graduation rate from 2023-2025; and significant growth in students taking and passing AP exams each year.

Leading by example, Dr. Lennox mentors core content administrators, counselors and educators. She leads the Student Improvement Team and co-chairs the school’s Instructional Leadership Team, where she assists with curriculum alignment and PLC facilitation. She visits classrooms, analyzes data and works with colleagues to plan targeted interventions. In addition, she has created a holistic, multipronged, teacher-led professional development program and leads a peer coaching initiative that has helped reduce teacher turnover by 15%. Dr. Lennox is also a published author and is a member of the Illinois Principals Association.

Championing communications with families and the greater community, Dr. Lennox manages three newsletters, holds an open-door policy with students, and is learning Spanish to better communicate and translate for families. She oversees state testing coordination, and organizes events like graduation, parent-teacher conferences, incoming freshman night, registration, open houses, and curriculum night — all while actively attending and supporting school cultural events and celebrations.

Dr. Lennox completed her bachelor’s in mathematics in 2009 from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, a master’s in school leadership in 2013 from Olivet Nazarene University, and a doctorate in educational leadership from the University of St. Francis in 2022.
