Dewey Gottlieb is the President-Elect of the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM). He was a high school mathematics teacher for 14 years (3 in Ohio and 11 in Hawaii) and served in the Hawaii Department of Education as a district- and state-level mathematics leader supporting teachers throughout the state of Hawaii for 19 years. Dewey recently joined the Desmos Studio team as the K-16 Engagement Manager. He was the first teacher in Hawaii to earn National Board Certification in secondary mathematics, and is a recipient of the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching (PAEMST). Fun fact: Dewey is owned by an exceptionally cute Tibetan Spaniel.
