Inspiring the Future, from the Ozarks to the Delta
The Arkansas Milken Educator Network exists to inspire Arkansas educators, sharing the joy of our profession, so every student in Arkansas learns from high-quality teachers. Our vision is to become a trusted voice, advocating for and elevating education across Arkansas. We are a growing group of passionate educators with a diverse set of experiences and skills, and we love the education profession!
In order to better serve education across our state, we are targeting pre-service teachers by partnering with Arkansas universities and teacher training programs. Teaching is a challenging job, especially in the early years. We want to meet our new teachers before they even get to the classroom and offer them our experience, advice, and support. So far, we have partnered with our state’s largest university - the University of Arkansas main campus in Fayetteville - to present to over 200 future educators. We also have plans to grow our outreach to additional teacher training programs in other parts of our state. Through this process, we have also grown as a network, building connections between each other as we unite around this good work.
