Rachel Kinsaul (GA '24) Named 2026 GA Teacher of the Year
May 30, 2025
Rachel Kinsaul (GA '24), Morgan County High School agricultural science teacher, has been named the 2026 Georgia Teacher of the Year by the Georgia Department of Education. Kinsaul’s influence reaches far beyond her classroom. She serves as the high school’s National FFA Organization chapter advisor, training teams in developing student-led agricultural projects. She is also president of the Morgan County Farm Bureau and a member of the Madison-Morgan Conservancy board of directors. Kinsaul’s creative approach inspires students with projects like the Floral Arrangement of the Month, where students arrange and deliver a monthly floral arrangement to those with a paid subscription – partnering with the school’s special education students while also raising funds for the agriculture program. In the role as 2026 Georgia Teacher of the Year, Kinsaul will advocate for public education in Georgia and help select the 2026 National Teacher of the Year, according to the Georgia Department of Education press release. In making the announcement, Superintendent Richard Woods called Kinsaul “a standout example of the hands-on learning opportunities that Career, Technical, and Agricultural Education opens up and the life-changing power of an excellent teacher in the classroom.”
