Misty Ayres-Miranda (TN '15), who teaches high school English, AP Literature, and Literary Arts at Nashville School of the Arts, has received a 2016-17 Tennessee Educator Fellowship. An initiative of the State Collaborative on Reforming Education (SCORE), the fellowship helps teachers contribute to the discussion about education policy by appearing at public speaking engagements, inviting policymakers into their classrooms, writing about their education experience in state and national publications, creating regional professional networks, and serving on state-level policy committees. Ayres-Miranda is one of 49 teachers in Tennessee to receive the fellowship for the upcoming academic year.
