Mark L. Ingerson (VA '05) Selected for Virginia High School League's Hall of Fame

Salem High School speech and debate coach Mark L. Ingerson (VA '05) was selected for induction into the Virginia High School League Hall of Fame as part of the Class of 2026, making him one of 11 inductees in the 37th annual Hall of Fame. The Virginia High School Hall of Fame recognizes outstanding achievements in high school athletics and activities. In leading the Salem High school speech and debate programs for over 23 years, Ingerson has led his teams to 20 state championships and coached students to 103 individual titles. In a statement for the Salem Reporter, Ingerson credited students and the help of their parents for his recognition. "All of those students and parents have a part of this award,” Ingerson said.
