Amara Alexander (AL '16) Chosen as Einstein Fellow

Amara Alexander (AL '16) is one of nine science, technology, engineering and math teachers selected as a 2019-2020 Albert Einstein Distinguished Educator Fellow. She will spend 11 months working on STEM education initiatives in a federal agency or Congressional office in Washington, D.C.
The program is in its 29th year and is managed by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Science’s Office of Workforce Development for Teachers and Scientists in collaboration with the Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education (ORISE) and sponsoring agencies, including the Department of Education, Library of Congress, Naval Sea Systems Command, and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration.
