Kentucky principal Ruby Napier, who won the Milken Award in 1994, has died. She was 81 years old.

At the time of her Award, Ruby was the principal of Willard Elementary School in Busy, Kentucky, an economically depressed former mining community. In her 23 years as Willard's principal, Ruby was known for creating school-to-work programs that helped build students' work ethic and offered paths to employment.
