Jaime Crowley (RI '09), the assistant principal at Rogers High School in Newport, Rhode Island, has died. He was 49 and had battled cancer for several years.

Crowley was the assistant principal at Mount Hope High School in Bristol when he won the Milken Educator Award in 2009. He advocated for a later start time for high school students based on research showing that it could yield better attention and productivity and was very influential in instructional leadership, reducing dropout rates and improving achievement. Crowley was named Rhode Island's Middle School Principal of the Year in 2015.
