Chuck became an educator primarily because he wanted to "touch and influence the future." He was known for his focus on helping students gain self-esteem though improved skills and positive reinforcement. He was a star football player in high school and college and named to his high school’s Athletic Hall of Fame and the New Mexico State University Hall of Legends.

Coach Snowden was my middle school gym teacher and football coach. He believed in me, let me play football (willie, also known as weak side linebacker). He made me run laps first with the girls, then with the boys. He pushed me to be great.
When I struggled in highschool, and my parents tried everything to help, they finally called my Coach Snowden. I was no longer his student but that man walked over coals of fire to help me. I will always be in his debt.
RIP Coach. I love you. And, thank you.
