The special guest is Lowell Milken, chairman and co-founder of the Milken Family Foundation, who tells the assembly that he believes teachers get far too little recognition and reward for their important work: preparing young people for bright futures. More than 30 years ago, he created the Milken Educator Awards to honor top educators. And this year, one of the best teachers in the country is right here in Carson City!
