Dr. Jane Foley, senior vice president of the Milken Educator Awards, explains that the outstanding teacher about to be honored at South Florence High will also receive a cash prize. How much? With South Carolina Superintendent of Education Molly M. Spearman looking on, Foley brings up student volunteers who hold cards representing the amount of the Award. When the last zero appears, for a total of $25,000, the gym erupts in cheers and applause.
