Lowell Milken, chairman and co-founder of the Milken Family Foundation, tells the assembly that teachers have the most important job in our society—preparing students for their futures. "The jobs are available today," he says. "The question is, do you possess the skills, knowledge and training to make the most of those opportunities?" Educators, he adds, are too seldom recognized for their efforts. That's why he created the Milken Educator Awards, which has been honoring outstanding educators for more than three decades. And this year, one of the best teachers in the entire U.S. is right here in Millington!
