"I chose to be an Ag teacher because of the impact that my teachers had on me," Jacob Ball tells his students and colleagues. He stops to congratulate Tyren Harris, a student who won the Fayette Public Schools Outstanding Youth Award last night. "Tyren and I were talking in the van last night on the way to Anderson County and I said the thing about being a teacher is that you have to shift that mindset of being intrinsically motivated. You have to learn and live for your students. You're not going to get an "attaboy" and a round of applause at the end of every lesson. And then this happens. Never in a million years did I think my name was going to be the one on this shiny envelope. I am beyond humbled and very proud of all of my students."
